Promise Book Shoppe's ministry is supporting eye missions, specifically cataract removal and lens implants. As an extention ministry of St. Luke's Cataract & Laser Institute, we are dedicated to the restoration of sight around the world through contributions to the Africa Mercy Ship.

The Africa Mercy Ship is designed as a floating hospital so that eye surgeons and missionaries minister side by side to restore physical and spiritual sight. They perform thousands of cataract removals and lens implant a year.

You support our ministy by purchasing Christian books, Bibles and inspirational gifts from us;       and the Word of the Lord continues to go forth and people receive healing.

Our only overhead consists of four part-time employees. Due to the generosity of Dr. James P. Gills, neither he nor his family receive any monetary benefit from this endeavor. All book store proceeds are designated to eye surgery on the Africa Mercy Ship.
